In this scene, we show thought provoking pictures of children who have been abused. While pictures are shown, there is a voice over of a child asking for help.       Statistics of physical abuse being shown on screen.

This scene consist of statistic reading about approximately how many children die per year from child abuse, “5 children die per day from child abuse.”

When walking through the store Target we stopped to ask random customers about their views on child abuse. This is when we get to know the public’s view on abuse.

We will be doing a roadside petition of “Honk if your against Child Abuse.” This will help to get a better idea of who stand with our opinion.

We set up   the phone interview with a school counselor to get an idea of what they do for children that they are suspicious about them maybe being a victim of abuse.

            The man and women at the National Children’s Alliance work hard to help victims of child abuse. They also provide shocking facts about child abuse like the number of children that die from child abuse each day, the number of preventable deaths caused by child abuse, and the number of children that are abuse in each age group. All of the facts help prove the idea that child abuse is a major problem that action must be taken in order to fix it.

            The Child Help Organization, founded by Sara O’Meara and Yvonne Fedderson in 1959, uses statistics in order prove the importance of child abuse. Along with statistics are reliable graphs and charts describing the increase of child abuse victims over time and a percentage of the types of child abuse that are occurring every day. All of the information leads to the shocking fact that innocent children are dying each day. The organization is dedicated to ending child abuse worldwide.

The authors of the gruesome tales located in this website are young, innocent children who have to face fear every day. These 46 awful stories are meant to shock the reader into believing that child abuse is an immoral, growing problem that is consuming our children. The stories allow the reader to see what the child sees, to feel the pain and agony. The authors use pathos to convey a sense of sorrow but also anger that adults can do such awful things to children.

The authors of the Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia put child abuse to a written definition to describe what child abuse really are. It supports the  hypothesis that child abuse has long lasting effects on the victim. These children do not just face bruises and broken bones but the emotional scars that last a lifetime. They describe that the abuser was abused which creates a never ending cycle and describe that substance abuse is a key factor in child abuse cases. The source also describes child abuse as a growing problem.

            The authors and researchers of the Help Guide Organization use facts to inform readers about the dangers of child abuse. The main purpose of the Help Guide Organization is to inform the reader on how to recognize and prevent child abuse. The the main solution to child abuse is to prevent it from ever happening in the first place. They also talk about how to recognize it because abuse children are very good a hiding what happens in their homes. The Help Guide Organization describes child abuse as causing more emotional damage that physical damage. The bruises disappear but the nightmares last forever.
